The Awkward Alligator, by way of a structural shift and staff (re)organization, has gained some much needed creative momentum. As of today The Awkward Alligator has given way to RE:, a loosely nit artist and writers collective that organizes, oversees, and facilitates multiple ongoing projects of cultural significance.
Another development worthy of note, which is now only to state the obvious, is that RE: and its many facets have finally found a few humble corners to set up shop and vie for your attention amongst the clamoring heavy weights of the World Wide Web. The page that you are currently viewing will function as a kind of home page where, along with regular updates and contact information, one can access links to and archives of each of RE:'s ongoing projects. Unfortionetly, as of this moment, RE: currently has only three of its many projects available for on line consumption (much more shortly to come).
The Awkward Alligator: The Awkward Alligator is the grass roots literary magazine organized and lovingly shuffled together by the people of RE:. Our goal with The Awkward Alligator is to find smart writers and present them to smart readers for free. In doing this, we hope to create an open forum for the works that more conservative publications refuse to print. To submit work e-mail submissions to awkwardalligator@gmail.com
Excerpts: Excerpts is a project that’s object of investigation is the informational trace, the residue of the spectacle, that collects on the surface of and is absorbed by the “semionaut” over the course of his or her voyaging, i.e. the trauma of the everyday. Indeed the work presented could be understood as a ship’s log or the journaling of the events of a digital dérive.
The Wish Tank: When Flanking Strategies Just Aren't Working... The Wish Tank is dedicated to writing strongly worded letters to all the different people and organizations that so desperately need a dose of diction.
